The cacao beans
The locals of Piura say that only one albino bean survived the migration of cacao from the Amazonas over the Andes to the coastal area: Piura Porcelana. Nearly extinct when our dogged Bean Team discovered it in 2007, the ultra rare white cacao grows in the Piura valley of Northern Peru, home to a dazzling array of butterflies. Our mission is to save and share this award-winning special cacao.

On the stony marl soils of the Calatayud region, this wine grows at 600-900 metres above sea level. Yields per hectare are low - making this single grape variety Garnacha even more concentrated, reinforced through its careful maturing in barriques.

Flavours of lime, raspberry and pecan divulge the secrets of an Ultra Rare white cacao–nature’s delicious mistake–we found along Peru’s coastal desert and habitat of hundreds of captivating butterflies.
Flavour notes of the wine:
Its stimulating fragrance reminds of ripe blackberries, liquorice and chocolate. Its palate is low in acid and supple, with a fine, almost sweet fruitiness and a noble hint of vanilla.
