CACAO REVOLUTION @CHOCOLATE WEEK, LONDON

Can direct trading protect the future of fine cacao? Members of the newly formed Direct Cacao organisation and other guests discuss these issues and how we can create a revolution to save and protect the world’s great cacao resource.

Hosted by Martin Christy of Seventy% and with a panel which includes Sophi Tranchell of Divine Chocolate, Santiago Peralta of Pacari, Philipp Kauffmann, conservationist and founder of Original Beans, Mott Green of The Grenada Chocolate Company and Maricel Presilla.

Great chocolate needs great cacao. We could lose this precious resource though unless cacao farmers can build sustainable livelihoods growing fine cacao. We need a new model that benefits consumers, chocolate makers and farmers alike – a virtuous circle of value, price, sustainability and all the pleasure and flavour that can come from great origin chocolate.
