LARA ROGUEZ

Lara quit her career as an industrial technical engineer, to devote herself to the kitchen and her true passion - cooking. She studied professional cooking at Bridgend College in Wales.  After graduating Lara took her first steps to  becoming an award winning chef. She took over the role of head chef at the acclimaimed Great House Hotel, Bridgend (UK) . After a year she returned to Spain to work with Nacho Manzano, a two star Michelin chef for Casa Marcial in Arriondas.  Nacho Manzano has also been awarded a one star  Michelin for his urban Restaurant La Salgar in Gijón. 

In mid-2019, Lara took on a new challenge and became  Executive Chef at  the Kraken Art Food restaurant in Gijón,Northern Spain. Lara’s uses her incredible skill and knowledge to create colorful and outstanding recipes which form part of the daily menu.  She is inspired by flavours of the sea and seasonal products. In 2020 Lara was awarded Chef of the Year (Worldschef) for advocating female empowerment in the hospitality industry and taking responsibility for marine life. Lara has won multiple gastronomy awards.
