One bar : One tree @Udzungwa
Since 2012, two exceptional entrepreneurs, Brian LoBue and Simran Bindra, have grown the local cacao company Kokoa Kamili and helped more than 2500 local farmers prosper by purchasing wet cocoa at a premium price and planting thousands of new trees.
Among their growers is even a convent, the Mbingu Sisters. The income the Sisters earn from their farm goes to support much of their charitable work – including operating a hospital, school and orphanage in the area. Original Beans supports Udzungwa cacao farmers and conservation
- by subsidizing thousands of trees in the local nurseries
- by partnering with the Southern Tanzania Elephant Programme (STEP) and help fund hundreds of beehives for fences
