Since 2008, we’ve explored remote rainforests to uncover the rarest, fairest cacao - transforming premium craft chocolate as we go. Today, we lead Europe's craft chocolate movement as a pioneer for regenerative business practices, pursuing our goal of creating a food culture that regenerates our world.

We’re committed to sourcing cacaos that are either wild, native or local landraces so that we can help rescue and preserve the rich diversity of cacao species. Original Beans cultivates these varieties in partnership with cacao growers around the world and this year, we’re excited to welcome Amazonas, Peru to our family.

We not only plant, but actively grow trees that protect and preserve old forests. With their complex and diverse ecosystems, this job is best given to the tree experts we know best: the cacao growers who supply our beans. Because when tree growers become tree owners, the survival rate of newborn trees can rise above 80%.

Carbon is everywhere - even in us (18.5% by weight!). The problem? We’re pumping it into the atmosphere by clearing forests, prioritising livestock and burning fossil fuels. The solution? Embedding it back into our biosphere. Organically managed cacao gardens and rainforests are nature’s agroforestry carbon catchers. And our Original Beans cacao growers are the custodians of these drawdown ecosystems.
