A PASSION FOR
POSITIVE IMPACT.
DISCOVER THE RARE.

From the Sacred Forests of the Arhuaco tribe to the Virunga National Park in DRC and its remarkable female growers, chocolate is a force for change in the global cacao supply chain. We don’t take this responsibility lightly but rather, we use it to inspire us to make a greater impact every day.

KEY SOCIAL IMPACT METRICS

3,990

farmers trained,
of which 1,624 are women
Knowledge is a force for freedom. That’s why we go beyond fair pay - our field teams and partners train Original Beans cacao growers in organic agroforestry, food gardening, beekeeping, leadership and even literacy. With 41% female growers, we’re empowering changemakers – especially our inspiring Femmes de Virunga.
3.4x to 5.2x

living income
Living income is a human right. And with the drastic increase in cacao prices in 2024, we are dedicated to ensuring that the benefits are shared with those who grow our cacao. Through direct trade with growers, we can ensure direct financial benefit for them. We guarantee between 242% (Latin America) and 419% (Africa) more than their countries’ living incomes. Not only does this ensure a fairer chocolate economy in local communities but also directly improves the quality and impact of our cacaos.

processed in origin
We’ve been processing specialty cacao mass in Peru for quite some time, but in the second half of 2024, we took it up a notch: crafting exceptional Growers’ Chocolate right at the source. Processing in origin means a greater impact where it matters most, and we’re just getting started.

LOCALLY GROWN, LOCALLY MADE

Our first-ever Growers’ Chocolate is organically grown in Amazonas, Peru before being made in Piura in close collaboration with our long-standing partner the Norandino cacao cooperative. Full of authentic flavour, Amazonas Bright 68% is an organic, fresh chocolate couverture that captures the unique flavour profile of our rare beans while living up to our high standards in quality and taste.

GROWING TOGETHER

Traditionally, Ivory Coast and Ghana produce over 50% of the world’s cacao, yet growers see little of the latest cacao price premium due to government-controlled prices. As West African output drops and Ecuadorian cacao rises, free-market countries like those Original Beans sources from, offer fair, globally-aligned farmgate prices. Which means a fair deal for those who grow our rare beans.
