The daily mists and rains rising up from the Pacific to the Esmeraldas cacao forests cannot unsettle a sloth whose thickish fur grows upwards for the perfect water run-off. The taste floats down from Ecuador’s last Pacific cloudforest, where silky tree frogs bask in the humid breeze.

We source our Esmeraldas cacao from Mache Chindul, the last coastal cloud forest of Ecuador which replenishes all major rivers in the region and is home to an enormous variety of plants and wildlife, including the spectacular Imbabura Tree Frog and the Mache Glass Frog.
